Bengali book catalogue and online storefront
A browsable catalogue and storefront for one of Bangladesh’s significant publishing houses — hundreds of titles across a dozen categories, with author pages, pre-orders, and a fully Bengali reading experience.

The challenge
Prothoma Prokashan publishes across history, liberation-war writing, fiction, essays and research, science, and children’s books — a catalogue in the hundreds of titles, with a roster of authors readers search for by name.
A catalogue that size is only useful if a reader can get to the one book they want. It also had to work in Bengali throughout: not an English site with Bengali pasted in, but correct type, correct numerals, and category and author names that read naturally.
What we built
- A category system covering the full catalogue, with live title counts so readers can see the depth of each section
- Author pages that collect every title by a writer in one place
- A recently-published shelf and pre-order support for titles ahead of release
- Bengali typography and Bengali numerals used consistently across the interface, not only in body copy
- A publisher blog and a stockist page for readers who buy in person
The result
The full catalogue is now navigable by category, by author, and by release date, and the storefront reads as a Bengali publication rather than as a translated template.
